Terms & conditions
Last updated 9 October 2026
These are the terms for any order with us: by post, in the lab or through the Drop Box. We've kept them as short and plain as we can. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a customer.
Who we are
Just Shoot Film Ltd, trading as Just Shoot Film Photolab, company number 15960983, Unit 11 Capitol House, 4-6 Heigham Street, Norwich NR2 4TE. You can reach us at hello@justshootfilm.co.uk or on WhatsApp.
Ordering and paying
- Ordering online is for film you're posting to us. You pay when you order, at the prices shown at checkout.
- Dropping film off? Just come in when we're open and pay at the counter, or use the Drop Box outside the lab door when we're closed. Both have our in-store prices.
- We develop 35mm and 120 C-41 colour film, including Ilford XP2. Black & white is in the lab only for now. We don't process E-6 slide film or ECN-2 motion picture film. If you send us something we can't process, we'll get in touch before doing anything with it.
Posting your film to us
Please send your film by Royal Mail Tracked 48. Tracked with a photo on delivery is fine, but please don't use Signed For, as it slows your order down. Our safe place is the black drop box outside the lab.
Film travels to us at your own risk. We can't take responsibility for film that's lost or damaged in the post before it reaches us, which is why we ask you to use a tracked service.
How long it takes
- Develop & scan by post: your scans are emailed within 48 hours of your film reaching us. Your negatives and any prints are posted back within 7 days.
- Develop only by post: your negatives are posted back within 48 hours of your film reaching us.
- In the lab or the Drop Box: ready by the end of the next working day, with rush processing if you need it sooner.
- Black & white goes to our specialist partner lab and can take up to 14 working days.
If anything is going to take longer than this, we'll let you know.
Your scans
When your scans are ready, we email you a link to your own private download page. The link works for 30 days, so please download your scans and keep a backup. We also keep a backup at the lab for at least 90 days after your order is ready, so if you lose your files in that time, just ask. If your order has colour and black & white film, the colour scans come first and the black & white ones follow when they're back from our partner lab.
Your negatives
You choose what happens to your negatives when you order: collect them from the lab, have them posted back by Royal Mail Tracked 48, or have us dispose of them safely. If they're waiting for collection, we keep them for 30 days after your order is ready and email you reminders. After that we dispose of them safely.
When film doesn't come out
- Blank rolls: if a roll on a develop & scan order comes back completely blank, we'll refund £5 for that roll as a goodwill gesture. We can't refund develop-only orders, because the developing has still been done.
- Dark, faint or overexposed photos, light leaks and blurry shots come from the camera or how the film was shot or stored, not from developing, so they aren't something we can refund.
- Our prices are for scanning on our autofeed scanner. If your film is too dark or damaged for that and needs scanning by hand, there's a surcharge (£5 for JPEG scans, £8 for TIFF). We'll always message you and wait for your go-ahead first.
If something goes wrong in our care
We take great care with your film, but if something goes wrong while it's with us, we'll do everything we can to put it right. If we can't, we'll give you a full refund for that order and a free roll of film to replace it: the same film if we can get it, or the closest thing we can. We can't pay for the photos themselves, as there's no way to put a value on them, so that's the limit of what we can offer.
Posting things back to you
We post negatives and prints back by Royal Mail Tracked 48. If your parcel arrives damaged, or doesn't arrive when the tracking says it should, tell us within 48 hours and we'll chase it with Royal Mail.
Once a parcel is with Royal Mail, what happens to it is out of our hands, so we can't be responsible for things like theft or accidents on the way. If Royal Mail loses or damages your parcel, we'll reprint any prints for free, send your scans again, and claim from Royal Mail for your negatives and pass on whatever compensation they pay.
Changing your mind
If you change your mind before we've started on your film, message us and we'll refund you. Once developing has started, it can't be undone, so we can't cancel or refund it. If something has gone wrong on our end, we'll always make it right.
Your photos
Your photos are yours. We won't share them publicly without asking you first. Now and then we like to show off some favourites that came through the lab on our Instagram. If we'd love to share one of yours, we'll message you to ask, and tag you if you're happy for us to.
Nude photography is absolutely fine with us. The one thing we won't accept is sexual images involving children or animals. We won't print or return those, and we'll report them to the police.
Offers and vouchers
Offers and vouchers work as described on this site at the time you use them. They have no cash value. We may change or end them, but we'll honour anything you've already earned or been given.
The small print
We may update these terms from time to time; the version on this page when you order is the one that applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. How we look after your details is explained in our privacy policy.
