This explains what we do with your details when you order from us, whether that's online, in the lab or through the Drop Box. In short: we use them to do your order and keep you posted about it, and now and then to send you our news. We never sell them.
Who we are
Just Shoot Film Ltd, trading as Just Shoot Film Photolab, company number 15960983, Unit 11 Capitol House, 4-6 Heigham Street, Norwich NR2 4TE. We're responsible for your personal data. If you have any questions about it, email hello@justshootfilm.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and phone number.
- Your postal address, if we're posting anything back to you or sending you a postage label.
- What you ordered, any notes you leave us, and your order history.
- Your photos: the scans we make from your film, and any files you upload for prints. We won't share them publicly without asking you first.
- Any vouchers or offers you’ve used.
- Your messages, if you get in touch by WhatsApp or email.
We never see or store your card details. Payments are handled by Square.
How we use it
- To do your order: develop and scan your film, send you your scans, post things back and let you know when it's ready.
- To email you about your order, like your receipt, your scans link and reminders about negatives you haven't collected. These always come, because they're part of the service.
- To run vouchers and offers.
- To send you our occasional newsletter and offers, like a discount if we haven't seen you for a while. You can say no at checkout, and every one has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the records the law asks us to keep for tax.
Under UK data protection law, most of this is needed to carry out your order. Keeping tax records is a legal obligation. Newsletters and offers to our customers and keeping this website secure are in our legitimate interests, and you can object to them at any time.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us do your order, and only what each one needs:
- Square, for payments, our till, customer records and orders.
- Resend, which sends our emails.
- Cloudflare, which stores your scans for your download page.
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
- Royal Mail, which gets your name and address to post things back to you and make postage labels.
- Google Drive and Filestack, for files you upload for prints, so we can print them.
- Our black & white partner lab, which gets your name and roll details for black & white orders.
- WhatsApp, if you message us there.
Some of these companies store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use the safeguards UK law requires. We never sell your details or pass them on for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
- Your scans: your download link works for 30 days after your order is ready, then the files are removed from it. We keep a backup at the lab for at least 90 days after your order is ready, in case you need them again.
- Order and payment records: six years, because the law requires it for tax.
- Your customer record (name, contact details and order history): while you're a customer. Ask us and we'll delete anything we don't have to keep by law.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you won't see a cookie banner here. Our visitor counts don't use cookies and don't identify you. If you switch on dark mode or the easy-read font, your browser remembers that choice. Square's card form uses its own cookies to keep payments safe, and the Drop Box page sets one to remember you've scanned its QR code.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or ask us to stop using it for something, like marketing. Just email hello@justshootfilm.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If anything here changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
